We had looked forward to this gathering for some time and were glad to see the good number that came from many different areas. The Mountain House Inn was a cozy place that quickly got filled with all these excited Pentecostal people. The mountains and beauty of the changing colors of the leaves made it a very appealing location.
The greatest appeal of all was the presence of God and the anointing of His Spirit on the meetings. Many were strengthened and challenged afresh with vision, burden, and purpose.
We appreciated the ministry of Rev. Joseph Chambers of Paw Creek Ministries, who preached and instructed us so powerfully from the book of Revelation concerning the Seven Lamps of Burning.... The seven offices or functions of the Holy Spirit.
Rev. Jeff Mayo certainly had the message of the hour for each of the nights. He challenged all to be a man (woman)that men will listen to, "A Man That Men Will Hear/Listen To", and pointed us clearly to the people who will listen to that man - "Men That Will Listen". Great is the harvest, ready to be reaped. There are people who WILL listen... Go and find them and bring them in to the kingdom. Brother Mayo told that Brother Bill Rich was his mentor and once when Brother Rich came to help him with his desire to see his church grow, Brother Rich took him knocking on doors. But he passed by that nice neighborhood and stopped in a place considered "on the other side of the tracks." He told Brother Mayo what he was to say at the first door as the man answered: " Hello, I am Jeff Mayo. I pastor the Emmanuel Holiness Church in Alexandria, Alabama, and I am here to serve you. What can I do for you?" Wow! What an approach.... and the church has grown tremendously with souls getting saved regularly.
Brother Goodwin preached "Loose Him And Let Him Go" (The Holy Ghost), and Brother Bruce Ganze also added to the impact of the gathering with His message on "A Fresh Baptism". Brother Gene Smith and others participated in singing, exhorting, and leading. Brother and sister David Lloyd and their children, missionaries to Haiti, opened our eyes to the needs and stirred our hearts with his vision. It was a wonderful time of refreshing, praying and drawing near to the Lord. God dealt with deep needs and brought hope and strength through the ministry of the Holy Ghost.
Each night there was a beautiful time of food and fellowship. Before the retreat ended we were privileged to wish Sister Juanita Chambers "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" and present her with a birthday cake and card with gifts enclosed. THANK YOU PAW CREEK MINISTRIES FOR MAKING THIS RETREAT AVAILABLE!
