Pastor and Sister William Lewis helped us find their house in this unique community where so many need the Lord. We were happy to see the nice church facilities and sought the Lord earnestly for His direction concerning the needs of this church. Nightly, the word was preached. Some acknowledged they were so stirred they couldn't sleep, but just pondered all the things God was dealing with them about, and how they could fulfill the desires He was placing in their heart.. Revival always stirs a vision and burden to reach the lost. We appreciated having several visiting preachers from churches in the area.
Brother and Sister Lewis are also the parents of Irving Lewis, and Pastor Johnny Lewis from Pennsylvania. Leaving Macclesfield we began on the next segment of our journeys.... with a tremendously beautiful view...as we drove over the Smokey Mountains.
November 24-26, 2009 Thanksgiving at Plano, Texas It was a quick but enjoyable time visiting with our Plano Goodwin family. (L to R) Ben, Jenna, Bob, Claire, Jeanna, Tom, and Matt.
It is good to take a break from the many hundreds of miles of traveling, singing and preaching revival each night, and to have a time to just relax. After the delicious Thanksgiving dinner, we packed again and headed out to begin our journey to North Carolina, and the next revival. November 22, 2009 Livingston, Texas - Pastor Don Goodwin - Beechcreek Assembly of God. It is always a joy to get to go "home" to a church where your son pastors. Brother Don Goodwin has, since 1997, seen a steady growth in the congregation, and also the recent establishment of a Christian school as part of their ministry. You can see their webpage at: http://www.beechcreekag.comWe praise God for the opportunity to preach there Sunday morning and night, and witness the work of the Lord in numbers of lives.
Above is Pastor Goodwin, and Rev. Kerry Sampson who is principal of the church's Eastside Christian School. We also enjoyed fellowship with our son Don, his wife Lori, and our grandchildren. (l to r) Blake, Dake, Claire, Bob, Don, Lori, Amy, and Lucas who is Amy's husband. We couldn't leave out Sushi, Marigold , and Kuma (not pictured), special parts of this Goodwin family. Sushi, the black and white Akita, recently won top prize in a dog show!
November 15-19, 2009 Freer, Texas- Freer Assembly of God- Pastor Doug Dunning It is a joy to see pioneer works growing. Since our last revival here, we see new faces and signs that God is moving in Freer. Pastor and Sister Doug Dunning have labored here for over two years in a needy part of God's great harvest field.
We thank God for working in many lives around the altar and pray that the Gospel will continue to reach into the surrounding community. Freer, Texas is recognized for it's
Rattlesnake Roundup, and its huge Deer Camps where hunters from all over
come to bag their prize game. May that old serpent, the devil, be rounded
up and his works destroyed in this town. May God let this be a church
where people come from all over to find the greatest prize of all... the
Pearl of Great Price, the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
