April 25, 2010- Plano, TX - First Assembly of God- Pastor Tom Goodwin Back in Texas again! It was a long drive from Georgia, but it gave us opportunity to slow down for a few days. We are always welcomed by our son Tom, his wife Jeanna, and grandchildren, Matthew, Jenna, and Ben. Andrew is away at Free Gospel Bible Institute, getting ready to graduate in just a few weeks. It is exciting to see the onward move at the church where Tom faithfully served as Assistant Pastor for several years, and has now become the full time pastor. It was our joy to minister in the Sunday services. What joyful singing was heard! They are praying and believing God for growth and revival.
Circumstances worked out for our other son, Pastor Don Goodwin, his wife Lori, and our grandchildren Blake and Dake, to also be present for the morning service, so it was a great family get-together afterwards. "Grandpa" Goodwin preached with power.
We enjoyed staying in Andrew's very patriotically decorated bedroom, and awoke in the mornings ready to pledge to the flag!! As you can see, Brother Goodwin is getting around pretty good on his laptop. On Monday, we were able to have our daughter and son-in-law, Jess and Becky White, join us for a few hours before they headed back to Hartselle, Alabama. The men of this family all ganged up on Brother Goodwin and would hardly let him leave Texas!! Left to right you see, Grandson Matthew who is ready to get married soon, Pastor Tom Goodwin, Pastor Jess White (son-in-law), Grandson Ben, and Brother Goodwin in his Texas hat.
April 24, 2010- Watauga, TX- Victory Tabernacle- Pastor Mike Switzer It was good old Camp Meeting Time and Victory Tabernacle, and many people came, filling the beautiful sanctuary with the sounds of Pentecostal singing, worship, and praying. We love and appreciate Brother Switzer and his ministry.
Brother Lynn Head surely alerted all of us to the dangers of 'GETTING STUCK"..... whether its a Bobcat that rolls down a hill, or a Christian that slides down into a spiritual low. We sure enjoyed seeing Brother and Sister David Horton and being blessed by their singing. Sister Lynn Head also poured out her heart as she sang.
Brother Bill Watson and Brother Bob Goodwin were right on target with messages that were clearly directed by the Lord.
People came from many areas, responding to the powerful move of the Spirit of God.
April 15, 2010 - Richmond Hill, GA- Calvary Holy Church of God- Pastor Gene Garrison It was great to be with Brother Gene and Sister Valerie Garrison and their family, and recall memories of the years when they and their girls sat as students in our classes at Free Gospel Bible Institute. Years have passed and many experiences in ministry have taken place. We appreciated the invitation to minister here at Calvary Holy Church of God.
We sure enjoyed staying in their beautiful home that had a specially provided area for visiting ministers and family. What a lovely place it was! The great fellowship and food just added to our days in Richmond Hill.
Nightly, God moved in lives through the preaching of the Word. We were thankful for those who seemed to do some serious praying. The conviction of the Holy Ghost was evident in the services, and our continued prayer will be that Revival fires will burn in each life. Many precious people are candidates for that wonderful, refreshing, refilling of the Holy Ghost and fire.
It was a joy to renew friendships and meet many others who were a blessing in the revival services.
Situated below Massanuten Mountain, Landmark Tabernacle is spreading the Gospel around the world.
Pastor Keith Powers and his wife welcomed us exuberantly and provided great accommodations and hospitality. We enjoyed their encouraging fellowship and wonderful food.
Night after night God anointed the preaching and brought genuine revival praying and seeking. An earnest hunger and desire for a move of God was evident in the response of both pastor and people. It was a joy to see such intense praying for the Holy Ghost, and for refillings, around the altar. Stirred believers made new commitments, stepping up higher in their walk with the Lord.
We enjoyed the good singing by Brother and Sister Powers, their son Kirk Powers and his wife. It was also a joy to again see Brother Noah Hatfield and his wife, Holly...and to be moved by their powerful testimony and song.
Brother Matt Bourgault took time away from campus ministry to stop in to the revival. We also enjoyed the Children's Church choir... a result of their Bus Ministry outreach.
May God keep the fires of revival burning at McGaheysville ,Virginia!
